D.C. Area Day Trips
Here are some of the day bike trips offered by Senior Cycling.

North Central Rail Trail See Photos
This trip takes us 33 miles of biking through the beautiful country side from York, Pa. south towards Baltimore. The trail follows the route of the old North Central Railroad traveling first along the Codorus Creek Cold Water Trout Stream and then meanders its way back and forth across the stream know as Gunpowder Falls. Three Covered Bridges Tour See Photos
For bikers who are comfortable road riding, on this trip, we cover approximately 35 miles around Frederick and Thurmont, Maryland. Passing through 3 covered bridges, rolling hills and beautiful fall scenery. FEE: $85     Fall 2008  TBA
 
Eastern Shore Maryland See Photos
St. Michael's Tour, Easton to St. Michaels (established in 1630). A full or half day biking on
roads.  Bike 18 Miles to St. Michaels via a little ferry ride from Oxford
to Bellevue.  We explore the historic streets and museums and have lunch.
Return to Easton, 9.5 miles, or stay and enjoy more time in St. Michaels
and van back to Easton and home.

Baltimore & Annapolis Bike Trail
This paved, flat bike path (32miles), runs between Annapolis and Glen Burnie.
We will ride this round trip, stopping for a great picnic lunch.  FEE: $75
 
Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge See Photos
Combine your love for biking (30 miles)and wildlife all in one.
The home of the endangered Bald Eagle, Delmarva Fox Squirrel
and the migrating Peregrine Falcon. This is road riding on the beautiful flat Eastern shore.

TOUR DETAILS
Put your own group together, set a date.  I will pick up your group at one location take you on the tour.  I supply snack, a wonderful lunch, van support and a sweep rider on all rides.  At the end of the day I will return you to the pick up location.  Helmets required.  A minimun of 8 riders needed. A 10% discount if you have 10 or more riders.  Maximun 13 riders.  Limited Bicycle rentals $20. per day. Helmet rentals $3. per day.

We bike the third section of the C&O canal. Hancock, Md to Williamsport   We will stop at Fort Frederick State Park where weather permitting there will be an re inactment of a civil war camp.   Approx 25 miles. We depart at 7AM  Cost $75, includes transportation, snack, lunch and support sweep rider.   Call Reston to register
